What are We Calling Forth?

by Kim Potter, http://www.anewthingministries.com

Earlier last week, local news stations began to predict weather conditions for the coming week. They were predicting storms and possible tornados in our area.

As the days got closer to the weekend, everywhere I went people were talking about the coming weather. They all said the same thing; “they are calling for bad weather this weekend.”

Each time I would hear this, the words, calling for, would jump out at me.

I couldn’t help but think of the scripture in Romans 4:17.

Romans 4:17 says: As it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations” in the presence of Him whom he believed  – God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;

The word calling continued to go over and over in my mind. I took a few moments and looked up the word in the Strong’s Concordance.

Calling means to bid, to call forth, to invite. It also means to give a name to.

In my area, the meteorologist was calling forth…bidding and inviting, bad weather into our area. I understand they are doing this according to their training and their jobs – that’s not my point here today.

My question to you is what are you calling forth today?

Mark 11:23 says, Truly I tell you that if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and has no doubt in his heart but believes that it will happen, it will be done for him.

Proverbs 18:20-21 says, From the fruit of his mouth a man’s belly is filled; with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied. Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Our words have a great deal to do with what type of harvest we receive in life. Life and death are found one place, the power of our words.

Our words are invitations that draw things to us – what are we inviting into our life today?

We can choose to speak negative words and draw negative things our way.

Or, we can choose to use the word of God, knowing, as we learned yesterday, that word is a doorway to the blessing of God in our life.

When we choose to declare the Word of God, we are inviting and bidding the blessings of God to come our way. We are calling it forth into our life.

Remember, the word calling also means to give something a name?

Philippians 2:9 says, Therefore, God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name.

The name of Jesus is above every name that is named. Perhaps the doctor gave a diagnosis, a name, but the name of Jesus is above that name.

Therefore, give your body a new name, called it HEALED, call it WHOLE.

Perhaps, the name of lack is on your finances. Again, the name of Jesus is above that name. Take the name He gave you and declare your finances prosperous. The Word of God says Jesus took your poverty and gave you wealth. Declare His Word and bid your wealth to come forth.

I read something a while back that said, the secret of your future is hidden within your daily routine.

The Word of God says your future is hidden in your words…what are you calling forth?

What are you inviting into your life? What words are coming out of your mouth? God gave life to dead things one way and one way only…. calling those things that be not as though they already were. If you and I begin to do the same thing, we too will see life all around us.

It’s time to call forth – life and life more abundantly.

Hallelujah the invisible God, firstborn of creation, the eternal one lives inside of me. It is His hand that holds everything together, yet He cares about the details of my life.

Colossians 1:15-17, Psalm 138:8

And from the author of Porch of the Lord, I would like to add further encouragement on the authority of the believer, when things come uninvited, by viewing of the brief clip via an internet search for: “you tube chip brim Branson tornado”
