“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” Psalm 100 KJV
Thanksgiving greetings, dear followers/friends of the Porch of the Lord,
Today, in America, Thanksgiving is that time when we observe a special day to stop and thank God for all of His goodness and blessings to us–most of all, for sending us His Son, Jesus, to be our wonderful Savior, Shepherd, Teacher, Healer, and Lord.
I’d like to take a moment today, also, to thank all of you who have been following the posts here and thanks to those of you who occasionally send a “like” or a comment. Though I don’t post and reply to comments, feel free to continue to send any thoughts to me, the writer, which are helpful and of encouragement when something posted has seemed good to you. I hope that coming to the “Porch” is a peaceful place, where you can take time to meditate on God’s Word.
I am praying for you and believe that you will find all of the goodness and mercy the Lord has for you today and always as you trust in Him. His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches over you.
P. A. Oltrogge

‘Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” words of Jesus in Luke 12:6,7 NKJV
