For Thou art with me

At times if I feel alone, it’s your presence that I need to sense instead. For it’s the peace of your presence, Lord, by which feelings of loneliness are shed.

I know that you’ve promised to be with me and that I can always draw near.
Then you’ll draw near to me, as well, saying, “I’m here–there’s nothing to fear.”

Psalm 23 shares that you’re with me, even in the valley of the shadow of death. “I will fear no evil…and goodness and mercy follow me,” all the days that you give me breath.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me
Because He has anointed Me,
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed,
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

(Words of Jesus from Luke 4:18-19 NKJV)

“You will show me the path of life; In your presence is fullness of joy; At your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11 NKJV

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” Psalm 23 KJV
