The tragedy at Camp Mystic has shaken our entire community, striking unbearably close to home. And the devastation keeps growing. Every day we are hearing more people we love face unimaginable loss.

How do we trust God in the darkest of hours? Sometimes it is unbearable to trust – it just hurts too much. I want each person who reads this to know that God can handle your anger, your doubt, your distrust. His love wraps you up even when your heart is deep in disbelief. Tonight I am choosing to trust that God is always coming toward us to meet us where we are. Tonight, I choose to believe that Jesus was closer than we could ever imagine to those precious girls who lost their lives. I choose to believe that they knew they weren’t alone. The One whose name is God With Us is incapable of abandoning his children.
